2010 Hunter Bio
Name: Curtis Goettsch
Location: Elkader, IA
Turkey Hunting Experience: 22 Years
About: Curt has always been an outdoorsman at heart. He can remember early in life that there was something
pulling him into the great outdoors, an inherent need to hunt and fish. Spending every chance he got to fish
with his parents and hunt with his grandfathers, Curt gained knowledge of the outdoor sports. As a young man he would
become the driving force within his group of friends to go hunting and fishing, even in what some would call “less
then ideal conditions”. Known to many of his friends and family as the “lucky one”, Curt is always up for a good time
and challenge, no matter what the weather. Curt can remember as early as third grade, when his teacher asked him what he wanted to be when the
he grew up and he said "a hunter". These life long passions lead Curt to Upper Iowa University in which he graduated
with a Bachelor of Science degree in Conservation Management. His degree lead him into the field of Private Lands
Management with the Iowa DNR. Curt also brings a great deal of knowledge to his other position as Pro Staff for Sticks
and Stones Outdoor Adventures.
