Turkey Hunting Experience: 15 Years

About: James grew up in southwest Mississippi where he hunted with his mom and dad for deer and with his cousin, Michael Harrell, for everything from rabbits, to turkeys. James called up and killed his first turkey, on his own, at 14 and has hunted public land ever since he was able to go with his dad to run deer with dogs.

Occupation: Barge Captain on the east coast.

Organizations: Member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and the Quality Deer Management Association.

Advice For Novice Hunters: “Learn from the more experienced hunters and be patient.”
